Do you know what is an amazing complement to soft, youthful, and plump skin? Soft, nourished, and plump lips. Getting soft, youthful, and plump skin can be easy. One of the ways to do so is by exfoliating your skin, which is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. However, to get soft and plump lips, have you ever tried exfoliating your lips? If your lips are constantly dry or cracked, you might need more than just a lip balm or lip salve to nourish them sufficiently. Dead skin cells can accumulate on your lips as well and make them look more chapped. As a result, you may need to start exfoliating your lips if you want them to return to a healthy state.

Here are 4 lip and face scrub homemade remedies to exfoliate your skin and achieve a stunning complexion. Particularly, these lip scrub remedies can make your lips look plumper without the use of a lip plumper or any products with harsh chemicals. Your lips deserve to be just as stunning as the rest of your face, so don’t wait and use these remedies to get glowing skin right away!

1. Brown Sugar Lip Scrub for Lips That Are a Sweet Dream

Whether they are completely natural or not, exfoliants often have a rough texture, not ideal if you want to exfoliate your lips or even your sensitive skin. However, brown sugar is gentle enough to be used on your lips and skin without irritating it yet powerful enough to effectively dislodge dead cells on your skin. Additionally, brown sugar contains glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid that can exfoliate your skin while stimulating collagen synthesis. This, in turn, improves your skin’s ability to diminish lines and wrinkles as well as increase skin glow. When used on your lips, brown sugar may be able to diminish discoloration and help them look fuller, plumper, and more vibrant.

Ingredients

1 tbsp. of powdered brown sugar

5 drops of olive oil

Sunflower oil, as needed

Instructions

Mix the brown sugar and olive oil together. Add enough sunflower oil to the mixture until you get the thick consistency of ketchup.

Scrub your lips with this mixture using gentle and circular strokes for 3 to 5 minutes.

Wash the scrub off with warm water. Follow with your natural lip salve.

Use once a week.

Notes

You should apply your natural lip salve after using any of these lip scrub remedies to maintain soft, moisturized, and plump lips. Luckily, Apsara Skin Care’s Lip Nourishing Salve can be used to do just that.

“One of my favorite products is the Nut Shell Facial Scrub. This is an exfoliating scrub, and it really helps my skin glow, especially in the winter time when it can feel really dull. I highly recommend this product and other Apsara products to anyone who wants to feel good in their skin.”

2. Lemon & Brown Sugar Lip Scrub for Lips That Are Fresh, Plump & Tropical

Lemons are a great addition to a homemade lip or face scrub because of two reasons. First, lemons contain citric acid, another alpha hydroxy acid that helps slough off dead

skin cells. It can be used alongside the glycolic acid found in brown sugar to further speed up your skin’s natural exfoliating process. Second, lemons contain Vitamin C, which has been known to stimulate collagen production and lead to more glowing skin.

Lemons have been used anecdotally for many years to get bright, even skin. However, just as with the rest of your face, you should be cautious when using lemon juice on your lips. Never use it undiluted because it may have an adverse effect on your lips.

Ingredients

8 drops of fresh lemon juice

1 tbsp. of powdered brown sugar

Coconut butter, as needed

Instructions

Mix the lemon juice and brown sugar together. Add enough coconut butter to the mixture until you get the thick consistency of ketchup.

Scrub your lips with this mixture using gentle and circular strokes for 3 to 5 minutes.

Wash the scrub off with warm water. Afterward, use your natural lip salve.

Use once a week.

3. Coffee & Brown Sugar Scrub for Tight, Glowing Skin

Now that our lips look more stunning, we should now focus on the rest of our face. Besides brown sugar, you can also use coffee to exfoliate your skin without worrying about irritation. When using coffee on your skin, you may be able to see a noticeable difference right away. That’s because coffee is a stimulant and helps increase blood circulation to your skin, which reduces dullness and paleness. Coffee can also constrict your blood vessels within your skin and lead to tighter, firmer skin. That difference is only temporary, so you should use coffee regularly to keep encouraging your skin to gradually develop a more glowing and youthful complexion.

Ingredients

1 tbsp. of instant coffee

6 drops of Vitamin E oil

1 tsp. of powdered brown sugar

Almond oil, as needed

Instructions

Mix the coffee, Vitamin E oil, and brown sugar together. Add enough almond oil to the mixture until you get the thick consistency of ketchup.

Scrub your skin with this mixture using gentle and circular strokes for 3 to 5 minutes.

Wash the scrub off with warm water. Follow with a daily skin care routine based on your skin type is. Click here to find out what your skin type is.

4. Turmeric, Olive Oil & Brown Sugar Scrub

Once you have finished using a face scrub, your skin might be a little dry and vulnerable. When your skin is in this condition, it will begin to produce more oils to protect itself.

This results in oily skin. (This is why it is important to use your skin care routine after you use a scrub.) Brown sugar can reduce dryness because it is thought to be a humectant; it will attract moisture to your skin from the atmosphere. Plus, incorporating natural ingredients such as turmeric and olive oil into a face scrub remedy can provide nourishing benefits to your scrub so that your skin stays healthy.

Ingredients

⅛ tsp. of turmeric

10 drops of lemon juice

1 tsp. of powdered brown sugar

1 tsp. of oat flour

Olive oil, as needed

Instructions

Mix the turmeric, lemon juice, brown sugar, and oat flour together. Add enough olive oil to the mixture until you get the thick consistency of ketchup.

Scrub your skin with this mixture using gentle and circular strokes for 3 to 5 minutes.

Wash the scrub off with warm water. Then use your toner , serum , and lotion.

Use once a week.
