Would you like to use an easy homemade mask to minimize the look of lines and wrinkles and also to increase the glow and vitality of your skin?

I bet the answer is yes. Well here is a fantastic homemade face mask that you can use 1-2 times a week. This mask combines natural antioxidants, skin-tightening tannin, and vital good fats to give you a wonderfully effective at-home potion.

This mask is pretty complete when it comes to the various components that must be in place to keep your skin youthful and revitalized. Antioxidants to minimize free radical damage, a humectant to raise hydration levels, a natural skin-tightening ingredient, and good fats to nourish your skin deeply.

Here it is:

Ingredients

2 tsp. of avocado paste

15 drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice

Black tea for anti-aging

15 drops of cool black tea (brewed in hot water for 15 minutes)

10 drops of vegetable glycerin (available at a health food/drug store)

Instructions

Mix well and massage your skin with this mix for about 5 minutes. Use your fingertips and massage in firm upward strokes (both face and neck). Leave on for another 10 minutes. Wipe off with a wet towel (no need to wash). Then spray on your toner and apply your serum and lotion for your skin type. Click here to learn how to figure out your skin type.

Below you will also find useful information on natural anti-aging ingredients that deliver useful results.

Vitamin C is very well known to fade the look of lines and wrinkles and also prevent new ones from forming early. It is chiefly its

antioxidant properties that make Vitamin C an awesome anti-aging ingredient to use on your skin and consume internally.

As an antioxidant, it can reverse and keep in check the damage done to our skin cells due to the formation of free radicals, which are unstable molecules responsible for undesirable things like early aging and dullness of skin.

Talking of natural ingredients that have awesome anti-aging properties, we cannot stop at Vitamin C or a few others. The truth is that there are many natural ingredients that can fade the look of lines and wrinkles and keep them at bay for a long time.

Black tea is a great example. Why?

Because it too is a very good source of antioxidants and something else that is more or less unique to it. I am talking of tannins. Tannins are what gives black tea an after effect of causing your tongue to tighten up or pucker up a bit. Especially if the tea has been brewed for long and is sipped without anything else added to it. This exact same tightening effect of black tea can be harnessed to tighten up our skin and make the look of lines and wrinkles far less visible. Tea bags on shut eyes evokes a very relaxing image. It is a fantastic idea to quickly deal with those crow’s feet becoming far too visible. Especially just when we don’t want them to.

Another very good ingredient that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is vegetable glycerin. It is a natural ingredient that is derived as a by-product of the soap making process. The great thing about vegetable glycerin is that it attracts moisture to itself. In scientific language, it is called a humectant. Therefore if it sits on your skin in a perfect dilution, it can attract moisture and deposit it on your skin. Thus your skin looks plumper and the look of lines and wrinkles is diminished.

Now, this appears to be a temporary fix; but no, wait. If your daily skin care products have vegetable glycerin added to them as an ingredient, then you have it on your skin 24 hours (provided you are doing your skin care routine steps am and pm; if not you need to. Seriously!).

On another very nice note, increased hydration and moisture in your skin cells is vital for their optimal function. Our body is over 75% water after all. So, in other words, raised hydration level in the skin’s cells means a quick reduction in the look of lines, wrinkles as well as dull skin; it also means a longterm improvement in cellular health, which translates into prevention of early aging of skin.

Another beautiful anti-aging ingredient is avocado. It can be used

externally on the skin and eaten as a delicious snack. With avocado as an ingredient in this homemade mask above, I will take the opportunity to talk about good fats and their impact on our wellbeing and health; and definitely the impact they can have on the health of our skin, nails, and hair.

I will start by saying that I am repulsed by the anti-fat propaganda that is thankfully not as strong as it used to be a decade ago. Nowadays it appears that the anti-carbohydrate noise has replaced it. How shortsighted! Definitely, the obesity levels in humans (especially in the West) are on the rise. But instead of attacking high-stress levels and fast food joints that pretty much get away with selling toxins in the name of food, we as a collective began attacking fats. We forgot that good fats (unsaturated) are vital for our health and wellbeing. Or was this entire fear-of-fats started by large corporations that saw an opportunity and began producing, advertising and selling us low-fat products? Of course, the promise of weight-loss is very sellable; and so no wonder this concept became very popular.

What we forgot is that good fats are vital to our optimal functioning. Our health as a whole depends on a healthy proportion of fats, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins & minerals in our body. Fats are vital for our nervous system (yes our brain is part of it) to function well, our joints to move without creaking and of course for our skin to remain youthful and elastic. Ever heard of anyone who went on a low-fat crash diet and came out of it looking a decade older with fistfuls of hair in their hands each time they washed or combed their hair. Well, this is all too common.

So then going back to fats, avocado provides good fats, which are definitely able to prevent early aging of skin. These omega fats are able to impact your skin’s health externally as well as internally. Plus avocados are a good source of natural Vitamin E, which is a very well respected antioxidant. It prevents and reduces free radical damage and nourishes your skin. Result? Faded lines and wrinkles and prevention of early aging of skin. Fantastic!
