Throughout history, potatoes have been used not just in cooking but also in skin care. They have been used to treat a variety of skin ailments like warts, burns, and frostbite. However, potatoes can also be used to address many skin issues such as pigmentation, blemishes, and premature aging. Today, we look to the wisdom of the past and realize we should include it in our home remedies. Potatoes can be the star of your next meal as well as the star of your next remedy! Do you have dull, uneven skin? A potato (and these 8 home remedies) may be able to lend a hand.
1. Use Potato & Lemon for Ageless, Even Skin
In case you were not aware, potatoes have Vitamin C, which works as an antioxidant and can prevent damage caused by sources like the sun, pollution, and smoke. Vitamin C also helps with collagen production, and more collagen helps smoothen wrinkles and improves overall skin texture. Meanwhile, lemon juice is another ingredient that may prevent oxidative stress-induced premature skin aging. Combining Vitamin E oil with the Vitamin C present in potatoes and lemon juice enhances Vitamin E’s bioactivity. This can lead to improvements in skin rejuvenation and ameliorates wrinkles, fine lines, skin firmness, blemishes, hyperpigmentation, and radiance.
Ingredients
1 tsp. of fresh potato juice
10 drops of fresh lemon juice
4 drops of Vitamin E oil

In order to get fresh potato juice, take a potato and either pound it or throw it in a juicer.
Once you have enough for a teaspoon, mix the potato juice with the fresh lemon juice and Vitamin E oil.
Dab on the face evenly and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
After this, wash your face with lukewarm water. Use your toner, serum, and lotion right afterward.
Use this recipe one to two times a week.

2. Fight Acne & Blemishes with This Potato, Peanut Butter & ACV Combination
From peanut butter sandwiches to salted peanuts for snacking, this food has become quite a delicious and versatile staple in many households. But have you ever tried combining it with potatoes and putting it on your face? Yes, on your face! Believe it or not, the oil that peanut butter contains may be able to protect the skin from UV radiation and help prevent skin carcinogenesis. It can also be used to soothe and moisturize dry, uneven skin.
The other ingredient in this remedy, apple cider vinegar (ACV), is useful for removing bacteria and excess oil that contribute to acne formation. Adding potato juice, which is filled with sulfur, potassium, copper, and Vitamin C, helps address acne on the skin and reduces marks, scars, or blemishes on the face.

3. Aloe Vera & Vitamin C Remedy to Nourish Dry, Uneven Skin & Reduce Premature Aging
Usually known for being a savior for sunburns during the summer days, aloe vera has other beneficial qualities for the skin. The polysaccharides in the gel of the leaves help
with various conditions such as psoriasis, sunburn, radiation-related dermatitis, and mucositis. Aloe vera has also been found to be favorable for wound healing, treatment of burns, and protection against skin damage caused by UV rays. Plus, aloe vera nourishes and smoothes dry skin, making it a perfect moisturizer!
As mentioned above, Vitamin C helps the body produce collagen, a protein that plays an integral role in skin firmness. Lucky for you, this remedy contains two sources of Vitamin C, potatoes and kiwi. Therefore, adding both of these foods to this remedy helps with age prevention.
